The End of an Era

It looks like the Gulfshore Baptist Assembly center is not going to be rebuilt. Here is a link to the story. Boy, who would have thought that they would have backed out of such ideal piece of land. The reasons for not rebuilding were:

The Baptists decided that the increased cost of rebuilding on the Coast, along with new codes and higher insurance, would be poor stewardship of their money.
I really would have thought that emotional attachment alone would have been enough for the Baptist to rebuild. I guess it goes to show that the long term costs associated with running the conference center must have been so far out of control that they just had to punt. Very sad.......
