Is Sticky Fingers stealing your money?
So we headed to Sticky Fingers today for lunch. Everything went well until we got our checks. Ben noticed that they had done their math wrong and overcharged him by a penny. We all laughed because that is the sort of thing we expect to happen to Ben. When the waitress came to get his money he jokingly said she had overcharged him by a penny. She said:
"Oh yeah we don't deal with pennies anymore. We just round up the checks".
What!!!! They just round up the checks. You have got to be kidding. No where on the menu does it say they are going to round up the checks. I know it is just a penny or two per check, but isn't that stealing? I mean, if I decided to scrape off a penny or two per transaction from the company I work for I would end up in Jail.
So, here are some numbers that are totally made up, but seem fair enough.
First, we were sitting on the deck for lunch and between us and the other people eating there was a total of 17 people. Being that it was lunch and that there were business people eating that would equal 17 checks.
Let's say there were 250 individual checks during lunch
And that there are 175 individual checks during the evening rush
Average of 2 cents per check overcharge.
365 days a year
17 store locations
This is what you get...
(( 250+175 ) .02) 365) 17 = $52,742.5
In my book $52,742.50 is a serious chunk of change.

Botanical Gardens
I am behind on my "Family" blogging a bit. We went and visited the Atlanta Botanical Gardens back on August 19th and had a really great time. It was very kid friendly and the Niki art exhibit was worth the trip. The boys had a great time playing on the art, and yes they let you play on the art. Very fun. By the end of the day John David was tired and resting in the Patapum Carrier and Elliot was just about asleep in the EllaRoo Mei Tai. I have posted some pictures of the day here.
If you have not had a chance to go to the gardens, then grab your kids and head down. The Niki exhibit ends on October 31st and will probably never be back in our lifetime. If you go or have been then let me know what you thought.

Corker came by work
Today at work the last of the Tennessee Senate candidates came by. This time it was Corker's turn. Unlike when Ford visited the news media was waiting outside to greet him. I decided to wait until after lunch to get a picture with him. There is nothing really to report besides the picture. Between the Ford and Coker visits I guess now I can say I have met the next Senator from Tennessee.
Thanks Jason for taking the picture.
