Ron Paul takes chattown by storm
Wow what a night! Last night the Ron Paul Chattanooga meetup group met at Ryan's on Lee highway. It was a HUGE success! Fun was had by all. Here is a picture I took and it should give a little idea of how many people were there. In all I would say we had about 50 people at the meeting, with another 15 or so that showed up to sign the delegate petitions and to pick up bumper stickers and yard signs. I am starting to think it is safe to assume that the number of Ron Paul supporters in the Chattanooga area is well into the 1000s.
The highlight of the night was the conversation that took place once the meeting was over. I met some really great people who also share my concerns about this country and where we are heading. Nothing I could write would really do justice to the conversation we had so I am not going to even try.
I will just say this; last night really has me thinking about starting a Chattanooga think tank for promoting Constitutional awareness in District 3. I have no clue where I would put it on my plate, but having the opportunity to review and debate current, past, and pending legislation with fellow constitutionally minded people from District 3 could be a great way to reintroduce fellow Chattanoogans to the United States Constitution. I will have to put some more thought into this over the next week or so.
Posted by gid at November 16, 2007 10:15 PMProud of you, Son! You are taking in to action what I have wanted to do so often - be politically involved. All I can say is "GO for it, Son" and remember the difference between humanism and Christianity is that we put out a moderately strong effort and expect a daily miracle. Humanism thinks that they can do it all on their own.
Love,
Dad
Hey Gid,
The meetup was enthusiastic, and that's a good photo too.
There is a "Constitutional Think-Tank" in Hamilton County; it's called the Hamilton County Libertarian Party. It's srtange that the fact that the HCLP has been here since the 1980's, that folks are just now getting exited about... Limited government, Fewer taxes and More freedom.
I'm assuming that most of the "new" Ron Paul supporters weren't aware that Ron Paul was and is a libertarian. At least folks are now understaning the fundemental principles of a "Real Constitutional Republic". Better late, than never!
The HCLP will be holding its caucus at Ryan's Restaurant in Hixson, on December 8th at 1:00pm.. All folks who are interested in promoting Liberty, limited government and fewer taxes should attend this meeting. New officers will be chosen at the meeting. If you or someone you know who espouses the Constitution, Libertarianism, is an activist, and can organize the party, please attend.
Our goal is to elect libertarians into office. Dr. Joe Dumas is a perfect example of a local libertarian whos ideals are virtually identical to Ron Paul's. Rhonda Thurman (though not a libertarian) is an excellent example of a representative who holds other representative's feet to the fire when it comes down to exsessive taxation and careless spending of our tax dollars.
Libertarians follow the Constitution, like Ron Paul does. So now that most of you know that Libertarianism and Constitutionalism are one in the same; let's keep the Hamilton County Libertarian Party moving and growing to the point where we may actually have control over our elected officials.
In Liberty,
Mo Kiah

Hey gid, if you get a Constitutional think tank going for District 3, don't forget District 2. We need to educate people about alternatives to our RINO Commissioner "Taxavant" and his buddy Chip on the school board....
Posted by: Joe at November 19, 2007 01:18 PMI registered to vote today -- and my Dad is now a Paulite (so are 2 neighbors)! Know the message, share the message & give Dr Paul the voice that the MSM is trying to quell! I'm also here in Chattanooga & would like to put out 100 signs in Harrison, Hwy 58, Birchwood,etc... (all over north Hamilton County) -- where can I get the signs?
Ron Paul rejects the CFR's manipulation & he's not owned by big oil, big pharma & the corporate elite -- the rest sure are! The corporate campaign contributions illustrate this perfectly...Dr Paul is my champion, and his message will be heard in East Tennessee.
