winter fun
Chattanooga finally got some winter weather today. Though, it is not the feet of snow I would have hoped for, but I will take what I can get. I guess the ice got pretty think in places and knocked a tree down on a power line because we lost power for about 3 hours today. We made good use of the time by all jumping in bed for a nice 3 hour nap. I ran out and snapped a few pictures this morning, very slippery but fun!
Oh yea, I screwed up and forgot to turn the date stamp off before taking the pictures. I hate pictures with date stamps! Oh well, someone remind me to turn it off.
As always you can click the pictures to get a better view.
Posted by gid at January 29, 2005 03:27 PMNice Pics! I think you got a lot more ice than I did... must be the high altitude of Hixson.
Posted by: beck at February 1, 2005 12:25 AMThanks. When I first read your comment I agreed that it must have been an elevation thing, so I check in Topo USA for the elevations of St. Elmo and where I live off of Big Ridge road in Hixson. I was really surprised to find that the elevation in St. Elmo was 723 feet and the elevation at my house was 744 feet. I can?t imagine 21 feet making that much of a difference, strange. It must be that I am on the east side of Big Ridge and the North side of another smaller ridge. I guess we don?t get the same amount of light during the winter or something.
Priiiteee! Did you remember to turn off the date stamp?
